Kids for a Quid at the Spa Valley Railway in August

Kids for a Quid at the Spa Valley Railway in August

Looking for a great value family day out this summer – then look no further than the Spa Valley Railway where everyone can enjoy the popular Kids for a Quid promotion.

The railway, which has a destination at every station, offers amazing value this summer when Kids travel for just £1 when accompanied by an adult who travels for just £11!

A Family ticket for two adults and two children is just £22!

Kids for a Quid Trains will operate on Tuesdays in August to the purple timetable using the historic 'Thumper' 1317. 'Thumper' was built in the 1960s and used to operate trains on the line until British Railways closed it 30yrs ago.  He has since been lovingly restored by dedicated volunteers and offers visitors a unique step back in time to an era when our railway was a bustling through route to major towns and cities in Kent & Sussex.

Travel with the Driver for just £10!
Anyone aged 16 or over can travel up front with the driver on Thumper between Tunbridge Wells West and Groombridge or vice versa.   Book in advance to live the childhood dream and see how the 3 ½ mile line looks from the front of a Diesel engine!

Passengers travelling on the railway can choose to disembark at the famous High Rocks and visit the rocks themselves and perhaps choose to enjoy a lovely meal in the inn whilst watching the trains go by.  Or perhaps choose to visit Groombridge Place with its giant tree swings.  Joint tickets are also available with train travel and admission to Groombridge Place.  The attraction is just 15 minute walk from Groombridge Station.
