Summer Steam Festival at the Spa Valley Railway

SUMMER STEAM FESTIVAL
AT THE SPA VALLEY RAILWAY

SATURDAY 2ND & SUNDAY 3RD JULY 2016

Visit the Spa Valley Railway for a weekend of intensive steam action with two mighty industrial Steam locomotives plus an array of road steam engines, stationary engines, model railways, a ride on miniature railway and a selection of real ales & ciders!

The Summer Steam Festival will be centred round Eridge Station where steam and heritage diesel trains will run on a regular basis all weekend.  Visitors to the station can also see a variety of interesting road engines in the car park including Steam Rollers, Traction Engines, Vintage Cars and other vehicles.  Entrance to this is included for all those who purchase a Day Rover ticket or pay just £7.50 and spend all day venturing round the site and getting up close to these magnificent machines!  Also at Eridge will be a visiting miniature railway (at a small extra cost per ride).  Food will be available from the BBQ and a selection of real ales & ciders will also be available to purchase.

On the Saturday evening there will be the chance to enjoy the very popular Fish & Chip supper trains.

At Tunbridge Wells West see four model railways in the Victorian Engine shed including the railway’s very own 'G' scale. (just 50p to see the trains go round!) Also at Tunbridge Wells West will be a small cinema showing steam related DVD's including one of the 'Extension to Eridge' which opened in 2011.  Also in the Tunbridge Wells West engine shed see a Terrier steam engine undergoing a major restoration to have a brand new cylinder block.

At Groombridge, which is the crossing point for trains and the starting place for the Goods train on the Sunday, alight to see a selection of stationary engines, including those built to pump water, cut wood and just for show.  This splendid line up comes courtesy of the Sussex & Kent Weald Stationary Engine Group. On the Sunday afternoon there is a Land Rover show in the adjacent village carpark in Groombridge.

Tickets to the Summer Steam Festival are £17.50 per adult and £8.75 per child this includes travel on our trains and entrance to the festival itself.

For further details or to book tickets including a combined ticket to include admission to Groombridge Place (which is a 20 minute walk from Groombridge station) visit www.spavalleyrailway.co.uk
