Summer Fun at Groombridge Place, Kent

Fairy Tale Characters at Groombridge Place
Summer 2015

Groombridge Place and Enchanted Forest near Tunbridge Wells in Kent will be filled with magic and intrigue across the summer holidays (23 July to 31 August 2015) when famous fairy tale characters entertain families visiting the attraction.

Daily theatrical performances will captivate visitors and children can have fun as they take part in a number of interactive activities alongside famous characters including Snow White, Robin Hood and The Little Mermaid.   The events will change each week making the attraction ideal for families who plan to visit Groombridge Place more than once over the summer holidays.

Each day visitors can enjoy watching three different plays which are each shown twice a day and take part in three different activities which also take place twice a day.  Children can meet their favourite characters as they roam the grounds between performances.

From 23-26 July, 3-9 Aug, 17-23 Aug and 31 Aug take part in a ‘Fairy Tales Got Talent Show’ on the lawns of Groombridge Place with The Big Bad Wolf, Tinkerbell, Snow White, the Blind Mice and the Ginger Bread Man. Enjoy Magic Wand Making in the Enchanted Forest with the legendary Merlin and the Evil Witch before taking part in magic battles with each other!  Discover the Standing Stone and the Cave of Wonders where visitors can meet Aladdin and watch a magical show with other famous characters from the fairy tale.  At Crusoe’s World see the tale about ‘Jafar’s Backfired Revenge’ and later take part in a magic show with real and fairy tale magicians including the most famous of them all Merlin.  The Enchanted Forest is the location for the ‘Sword In the Stone’ performance where Merlin prepares Arthur to become King!  Also watch a magical battle between the evil witches.

From 27 Jul-2 Aug, 10-16 Aug, 24-30 Aug children of all ages can make their own King or Queen Crown to wear as they discover the mysteries of Groombridge Place.  Look out for the woodland fairies and faun in the Enchanted Forest and see The Little Mermaid at the Lagoon Pool as she performs with her Prince, the Sea King and the Sea Witch.  At Crusoe’s World watch events unfold on the Prince’s wedding day when the Sea Witch makes plans to become Queen of the Sea!    Grom’s Village will be the place to see performances with Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men when they discover that Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham plan to imprison Maid Marian and Friar Tuck.

Also included in admission are the outdoor play areas in the Enchanted Forest with their Giant Swings, Board-Walk, Fort and the Pirate Ship at Crusoe’s World.

Children can also listen to fairy tales with Dave Arthur who will take up residence in what is certainly one of the smallest theatres in the United Kingdom.

New for summer 2015 will be ‘Mega Blaster World’ where children can enjoy Nerf Gun Fun in a purpose built arena or get wet in the two Supa-Soaker Arenas.  A firing range will also be open daily.  The cost will be £3 for a session in the Nerf arena or Supa-Soaker and £2 for the firing range.
