Family Fun at Drusillas Park this Easter

Crack open the fun at Drusillas Park this Easter; in addition to all the usual animal magic on offer, the award winning family attraction in East Sussex has also organised some special events to occupy your little monkeys during the school holidays.

The enchantment of the Little Kingdom will be cast over Drusillas on Wednesday 1st April as Ben Elf and Princess Holly make a welcome return to the Park. The Fat Controller will also be causing a locomotion on Good Friday 3rd April when he alights at Drusillas to take control of the efficient running of the Thomas & Friends™ railway.

Hello Kitty will return to her Secret Garden at the zoo on Bank Holiday Monday 6th April; visit her in her beautiful themed house and have a souvenir photo taken with the cutest girl herself. Plus visitors can join in the excitement and snorts of laughter on Wednesday 8th April as the lovable Peppa Pig embarks on another Drusillas Park adventure, along with her brother George. The cheeky pair will be appearing at intervals throughout the day at the Events Arena.

There is all the usual animal magic too. The zoo, which is already home to hundreds of fascinating and entertaining creatures, is currently celebrating the arrival of a baby saki monkey, an emperor tamarin, Goeldi's monkey and a beautiful lar gibbon named Pudsey. Animal lovers will also be able to see some new faces following the introduction of spectacled owls and scarlet ibis.

With all this, plus oodles of adventure play, a Thomas & Friends™ train ride and Hello Kitty Secret Garden, Drusillas has certainly got Easter all wrapped up.

Easter Fiesta at The Llama Park

Easter Fiesta at The Llama Park

"This Easter Sunday and Monday, The Llama Park at Wych Cross will play host to an Easter Fiesta to celebrate the fun, beauty and superb location of The Llama Park, offering lots to see and do for all members of the family, from the young to the not-so-young," says The Park's owner Bobby Schuck.

One of the main draws will be a Craft Fair organised by Keep It Local Events which will run for the two full days of Easter Sunday and Monday. The 35-piece Crawley Millennium Band will be entertaining guests on the lawn on Sunday, whilst the event will also include an art exhibition and display of Historic Vehicles from Southern Counties Historic Vehicles Preservation Trust.

"Of course added to all of this," says Susan Barrow, co-owner of The Park, "will be The Llama Park's own activities, namely family llama walks, donkey rides, a bouncy castle, a playground and play houses - and lots of animals to see, including our newborn piglets, our alpaca, reindeer, Jacob sheep and, new to The Park, six Soay sheep, horses, ducks, chickens, peacocks and other recent additions of two sweet pygmy goats and six Old English 'Billy' goats."

"We want to offer a really wholesome day out for all members of the family to kick off the Summer.  Of course we are also hoping for great weather - but even if the weather turns out to be temperamental the Craft Fair is indoors in our Big Barn - and we have never let a bit of weather spoil our fun," she says.

Bobby goes on to explain that, added to the increasingly popular every day food on offer at The Llama Park's licensed Coffee Shop, "we will also be offering spit-roasted chicken and chips in the basket outside in The Park, whilst those who pay entry to The Park can also bring their own picnics to eat in designated areas."

The husband and wife team have been at The Llama Park for just under two years now and they say, "The Llama Park has not been known for staging grand affairs in the past and was one of the area's best kept but quietly treasured secrets.

"It has been a lot of fun - and a great deal of hard work - to watch it grow in popularity as we have widened its appeal.

"We feel that The Llama Park is so spectacular that we want to enjoy sharing it more widely with others, not just with llama lovers, but with general animal lovers, kids who love being outdoors and countryside enthusiasts- and those who enjoy good home-cooked food with a glass of wine and some great shopping while they are here."
