Tomfoolery Saves Christmas

Tomfoolery Saves Christmas
The Capitol, Horsham
10th Dec - 24th Dec
'Join Tomfoolery on an adventure of a lifetime as he helps Santa and the elves get Christmas back on track'.
Children's showman Tomfoolery is just idly minding his own business when something happens – he starts to get emails which should be for Father Christmas! There’s only one solution, Tom must go on a trek to the North Pole to help save Christmas, by generating some festive mojo. Join Tom on an adventure full of fun, songs, dancing and Christmas magic of course. Ideal for children from 18 months upwards, this show is a great way of introducing children to the magic of the theatre. The performance will last for 50 minutes (no interval), and all children will have the opportunity to meet Tom at the end.
kidstodo went to see 'Toomfoolery Saves Christmas' on Saturday 12th December at The Capitol in Horsham and enjoyed every minute of it! Tomfoolery is a young dynamic entertainer with bags of energy and captivated the children throughout the performance. The children were entertained with Tomfoolery's antics and were very keen to take part in the audience participation on stage. The story was fun and appeared to all ages to include interaction with modern day technology; emails and Skype from the North pole. Any children with Birthdays were brought on stage and sang to by everybody making their birthdays extra special. The production was very professional and we came away feeling very joyful and full of Christmas spirit. kidstodo gives ' Toomfoolery Saves Christmas' 5 Stars!!!! Book your tickets online today.
'Wow, that was Fantastic,  we really enjoyed watching Tomfoolery Saves Christmas. It was my 4 year old's first theatre experience and I was so worried, but he absolutely loved it! Laughed throughout. I would definitely recommend the show.' Claudine Ridley kidstodo editor.

Easter Fiesta at The Llama Park

Easter Fiesta at The Llama Park

"This Easter Sunday and Monday, The Llama Park at Wych Cross will play host to an Easter Fiesta to celebrate the fun, beauty and superb location of The Llama Park, offering lots to see and do for all members of the family, from the young to the not-so-young," says The Park's owner Bobby Schuck.

One of the main draws will be a Craft Fair organised by Keep It Local Events which will run for the two full days of Easter Sunday and Monday. The 35-piece Crawley Millennium Band will be entertaining guests on the lawn on Sunday, whilst the event will also include an art exhibition and display of Historic Vehicles from Southern Counties Historic Vehicles Preservation Trust.

"Of course added to all of this," says Susan Barrow, co-owner of The Park, "will be The Llama Park's own activities, namely family llama walks, donkey rides, a bouncy castle, a playground and play houses - and lots of animals to see, including our newborn piglets, our alpaca, reindeer, Jacob sheep and, new to The Park, six Soay sheep, horses, ducks, chickens, peacocks and other recent additions of two sweet pygmy goats and six Old English 'Billy' goats."

"We want to offer a really wholesome day out for all members of the family to kick off the Summer.  Of course we are also hoping for great weather - but even if the weather turns out to be temperamental the Craft Fair is indoors in our Big Barn - and we have never let a bit of weather spoil our fun," she says.

Bobby goes on to explain that, added to the increasingly popular every day food on offer at The Llama Park's licensed Coffee Shop, "we will also be offering spit-roasted chicken and chips in the basket outside in The Park, whilst those who pay entry to The Park can also bring their own picnics to eat in designated areas."

The husband and wife team have been at The Llama Park for just under two years now and they say, "The Llama Park has not been known for staging grand affairs in the past and was one of the area's best kept but quietly treasured secrets.

"It has been a lot of fun - and a great deal of hard work - to watch it grow in popularity as we have widened its appeal.

"We feel that The Llama Park is so spectacular that we want to enjoy sharing it more widely with others, not just with llama lovers, but with general animal lovers, kids who love being outdoors and countryside enthusiasts- and those who enjoy good home-cooked food with a glass of wine and some great shopping while they are here."

Drusillas Park Celebrate their Best Ever Year!

Win Tickets to Drusillas Park

Drusillas Park is currently celebrating their best ever year; the award winning attraction in East Sussex welcomed some 400,000 visitors to the zoo, equating to a whopping 35% increase on 2013 and their highest ever number.

Park owners, Laurence and Christine Smith, who acquired Drusillas in 1997, have attributed the high volume of visitors to a number of contributory factors, including the opening of the new Hello Kitty Secret Garden together with an upturn in the economy and some reasonable weather.

Managing Director Christine Smith commented: “We are absolutely delighted. We invested £1million in our new Hello Kitty attraction. Some may have considered it a risk to invest so much but we have every confidence in Hello Kitty as a character and our own judgement.”

Laurence added: “Our strategy has always been that in order to keep our customers’ coming back and recommending us to their friends, we need to continually move forwards and to invest in new ideas and ventures. Hello Kitty Secret Garden was our largest project to date and we are delighted that it has been so well received.”

“The regular meet and greet events with Hello Kitty have proved extremely popular and our younger visitors love looking in the Hello Kitty House and visiting the Parlour. The Hello Kitty rides have also been a triumph, enjoyed by boys and girls alike.”

Drusillas Park also had an exceptional year on the awards circuit too, scooping a hat trick of accolades in 2014. In July the zoo won the Business Matters Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure award for the Sussex region, before going on to scoop the category overall for the whole of Sussex and Hampshire in September. They were also named Visitor Attraction of the Year at the Sussex Life Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards fighting off stiff competition from Arundel Castle and RSPB Pulborough Brooks Nature Reserve.

Plus 2015 looks set to be another bumper year as the family attraction gets ready to celebrate their 90 year anniversary.

Christine commented: “We have a great deal planned to mark this auspicious occasion. We will be introducing some new faces at the Park and plan to hold a 90 year olds’ tea party later in the year too. We also have lots of prizes and giveaways on offer so watch this space.”

Located just off the A27, Drusillas Park is open daily from 10am. For more information, please telephone 01323 874100 or visit www.drusillas.co.uk
