Date with Nature - Nightingale Festival at RSPB Pulborough Brooks
    Saturday 27 April & Sunday 28th April
At this time of year you may see people behaving a little oddly, peering into bushes for hours on end in search of a nightingale - a bird that’s renowned for skulking almost as much as it is revered for its incredible song. Catch a glimpse of it and you might wonder what all the fuss is about, but catch just a snatch of the song and you’ll be hooked. There is something magical about hearing them at night, and every performance is different - it can combine rich and liquid phrases, odd frog-like croaks, elongated piping notes and even a section that is reminiscent of machine-gun fire. As the daylight fades and the other birds go quiet, the nightingale takes centre stage - why not come along and listen to the virtuoso performance with us.
